Reiki is a non-invasive, gentle, yet powerful method of healing.
Reiki energy is often described as a Universal or Spiritual energy. It enhances the body’s natural healing ability and promotes wellbeing.
Reiki ("Universal Life-Force Energy") is channeled by the practitioner, to the patient, enabling them to absorb at the parts of their body that need it most. Negative energy in the patient’s body is also removed through this same channel.
Reiki treatments are used on its own as a healing practice and is also used safely to support complimentary medicine.
Reiki has no affinity to any religious belief or doctrine. It fits nicely with all denominations and doctrines with its principle of love, kindness and respect for each other.
Reiki can be experienced anywhere, even from a great distance. At any time, sitting up or laying down. The patient is fully clothed, usually laying on a massage table laying in a warm and relaxed environment. Patients may feel a warm tingly sensation on the area being worked on or may not feel anything. Patients may even fall asleep.
At the end of the treatment clients generally feel relaxed, refreshed and energised.
This feeling of ease my last up to one to two weeks. In some cases instant relief is felt for symptoms.
Mikao Usui (commonly Usui Mikao in Japanese) was the founder of a form of spiritual practice known as Reiki, used as a complementary therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional, and mental diseases. Usui taught Reiki to over 2000 people during his lifetime. Sixteen of these students continued their training to reach the Shinpiden level, a level equivalent to the Western third degree, or Master level.
